Hostgator Review by 5867dude - Second day and love it!
Reviewed on June 27th, 2009 Find moreI have had to contact support three times but they were quick at solving the problem and were very polite. They have always been online when I am awake despite me living in the UK so it would equal to around 2am for the support guys!
The speed is amazing. I was on some random host I found on Digital Point which made my websites take around 10-20 seconds to load. The speed is almost instant here. If it wasn’t for my uploading speed limit in FileZilla, I would imagine that would be 200kb a second or more. And considering I live in the UK, where as your servers are in the USA that is amazing.

Reviewed on June 22nd, 2009 Find moreBeing new to websites and hosting and all this complicated stuff I was always getting problems (not HostGator but me). Things like WebDisk Setup on Windows 7 or getting a Internal Server Error because of a messed up .htaccess file, the newbie problems. Lets just say all I had to do was click Join Live Chat and my problem was solved. Most of the time before I even said hello. You guys have THE BEST coustomer service of anyone I have ever been with. Also it seems to me the best webhosting deals. I don’t write good reviews but you guys are just the best.
One thing though…. You don’t respond to me on Twitter XD but what ever. Best webhostin service ever!

Hostgator Review by kanjigirl - Scheduled maintenance and email/site unavailability
Reviewed on June 20th, 2009 Find moreHG replaced a drive on the Lebaron server at around 9:00pm server time Wednesday. That was reported under the ’scheduled maintenance’ forum, and that’s great that we were notified.
However, I had no idea that this meant that sites and email for accounts on Lebaron would only be intermittently available for nearly 2 days. No clue. My ~45 clients on Lebaron were not happy with me to say the least.
So if this was scheduled in advance, and it was known that it would have this effect, why not mention that? Or even better, take care of it over the weekend rather then during the middle of the work week?
An emergency, sure, no problem with that. But since it was planned, I was really unhappy about having to explain to my clients what was happening and why it was proceeding so slowly.
Please give us info like this up front if you know it’s going to happen - if I had warned my clients that they would have site downtime and nonfunctional email for ~48 hours, that would have helped somewhat, although it’s still not clear to me why something like this was scheduled in advance during the week.

Reviewed on June 19th, 2009 Find moreBeen with the Gator about 18 months now. Only had to use the support system a very few times. Had a mod security problem today with a new addon domain. Took about 30 seconds to get onto the live chat, Carl was extremely pleasant and helpful. The problem could not be resolved in chat and was bumped up to a ticket. By the time i had said thanks and logged out of the chat, an email had come in with the problem resolved.
Once again i am astonished and pleased with the service i have found at hostgator, after moving here from another host, couldnt imagine being with anybody else!!!!

Hostgator Review by archetypemkt - Very Happy…and I’m kinda hard to please
Reviewed on June 19th, 2009 Find moreI have to admit I’m the first one the complain but I always say “thank you” and tip very well for a job well done but I do have to (and am compelled) to post something about hostgator.
I have had several reseller accounts and several web hosting accounts. Monster, Bluehost, Webhostingbuzz, Fasthost…etc.
Host Gator has always been incredibly fast in response and incredibly wonderful on a customer service standpoint. I’ve been a total “*****” when it felt like everything was going wrong and it seemed like the world was out to get me with clients and their websites completely falling apart and Host Gator has been nothing but GREAT, professional and managed to tame even ME (ultra *****, ice princess, freakout client) and have always solved the problem and explained what happened, what I DID WRONG (yes…usually it’s me just not knowing) and have taught me a lot especially most recently in my transition to a dedicated server. I am now (finally) going to have all my accounts on one box and that’s my dedicated server with Host Gator and feel very secure and happy that I have all my chicks in one lounge drinking cosmos and very happy.
I just want to say Thank You. It’s been great, you guys/gals have been perfect and I would whole heartedly recommend you. If anyone has a problem it is a one-off that we all have and they should get past it. For the past year on a shared reseller account and as I said, most recently transitioning to a dedicated server they have been AMAZING!
So thanks and sorry for all my “support tickets” but YOU KNOW HOW IT IS and I appreciate ALWAYS the fast response and help.

Reviewed on June 19th, 2009 Find moreSo when I first thought about signing up with Hostgator, I went to Live Chat. I said I wanted to take cc’s on my site and asked about SSL certs. I was told they were included with the reseller account. Now, I find out they will cost an extra $75 plus $2 a month just for one cert. Would’ve been nice to have known that up front

Hostgator Review by PaulieC - Host Gator Bandwidth + Load Time vs. Other Hosting Sites
Reviewed on June 18th, 2009 Find moreI have just recently signed up with Hostgator after extensive research with other hosting sites (you name it, I’ve researched it) and could not be happier! I just launched www.TheWiserHomeBuyer.com and have asked hundreds of friends around the country and some in other countries to check it out and they have all stated that they liked the speed at which pages loaded up. I know that the site is mainly text based, but even with the ads that I’ve put up, those have loaded fast as well.
The way I came to choosing hostgator was that they were in the top 3 of hosting sites with the highest reviews based on customer service, up-time, affordability and services. What I did with my research was also looking up the websites on customer reviews to see what customers with high-traffic reviews were saying because if they had thousands of unique visitors going to their website without any problems, I certainly would have less risk of having any problems. There were some other sites which had good reviews but when I checked out their sites and they did not have much traffic, I would take out their reviews of performance and only consider their opinions on customer service, satisfaction of technical support (for real technical questions and not user-errors like forgetting username/password) and ease of use.
So although my site currently does not have thousands of unique visitors a day, so far for me it has been smooth and I am extremely pleased with hostgator!
