    GKR-3221217 – I specified which server and it was done on the other anyway
    BIQ-4281791 – Incorrect information from Billy, then Ford didn’t read my first email (or would of changed his hosts file), then he still couldn’t do it

    And now:
    FEN-4720038 – So what if the Cert is signed. Thats not what I asked for, and certainly not was it causing the problem..

    Recently it has taken 3/4 emails to get anything sorted. With the time diference in the Uk that is 3/4 days!!!

    In my opinion: The above is a classic case of hostgator not reading emails thouroughly enough and not having the appropriate knowledge in the right places

    I just want to talk to someone who doesn’t say (oh you have to reply to the ticket to get that sorted)

    I have spent the time to call you guys, and you tell me that you can’t help unless I reply to the ticket and that admins “don’t take calls”.

    Whats the point of a phone number if you can’t use it I just need a problem solved that has taken several emails. And one phone call would of got it sorted.

    I signed up on the weekend hoping I could move my sites on sunday. Added a request for moving accounts on 02:14:32 AM | Apr 26th, 2009

    They started backup within few hours and I was really happy about the switch I was making. Then it started to go bad. No updates between 05:18:42 AM | Apr 26th, 2009 and 02:52:01 AM | Apr 28th, 2009

    I decided to get on chat so came the next update that they are doing the transfer, which took 4 hours. It was barely 2 GB of data.

    Whole point of moving accounts quickly was, that couple of my clients who use email extensively, do not loose much of their mails on old servers. 48 hours is a lot of time for that.

    Then I was told that mails can be synced. Few more updates. I was happy again.

    Alright, last update came that ftp was not working at 12:45:27 AM | Apr 29th, 2009. I checked the server. Made 4 connections and downloaded a 50 meg file from ftp before replying back at 01:13:50 AM | Apr 29th, 2009

    Since then I have been on chat twice. I was told work will start in a shortly. Last one told me that it will start in 1 hour, its been more than 2 already.

    I’m not a guy who cribs about everything, but this is turning out to be longest transition ever. Even if it takes a week, not a problem…..but let me know what is happening. An update like, “we are very busy for next two days. site transfer will take place after 48 hours.” Now I don’t have to check every couple of hours on what is the status.

    This has been very very disappointing so far. Going by the reviews I expected much better. Please let me know if I should continue at hostgator or not.

    I have been with HostGator for over a year.
    I don’t know: GatorDHanna. GatorBrent, GatorCarl ,GatorChris
    or any of the other Gatorteches.

    I have never used the live chat.

    I have never had 1 minuet of down time other then the normal upgrades.
    I have installed / uninstalled countless programs with mysql DB:
    Wordpress, shopping carts, Links Lists, Forums ect

    Never had an issue with Cpanel
    Never had an issue with E-mail setup.
    Never had an issue with adding or deleting a domain.
    Never had an issue with a MySql setup.

    I have never had to call support!

    Over the last 10 years I have had a lot of hosting and most of the time support was on my speed dial.

    Although ive only been on here 2 seconds, i have to say im very impressed with this forum and the way things are dealt with.
    Without mentioning names here, (although i would love to) ive just moved over from a fairly well known canadian based host who’s service is truly terrible, my sites where down every few days, and when they were up they were too slow to use. They have a support forum too which i and many others use to try to get help. This is where the problem is though, unlike HG, anybody shows any signs of dissatisfaction on their support forum with the service, then the whole topic gets deleted, which i find really dishonest. worst still, if ever you ask for help for problems on that support forum, they eventualy answer, and when its sorted, so there is no record for google to pick up, the topic and all the posts gets deleted. I find that really off putting myself, and smacks of a company trying to hide something.
    Servers do go down, and problems do happen and the honesty of this forum and the way forum staff handle things on here do inspire confidence.

    We have just renewed for the 2nd year and everything so far has been fantastic. First rate response to technical problems. Very little downtime whatsoever.

    Excellent speed with our forum which now has 429 members, (twice as many as this time last year). Almost 285000 post averaging 100 new post each day. And we have only been going 2 years.

    We also have a very good Gallery, chat and trivia on the site and recently i have added the Agoracart for a small site gift shop supplied by HostGator which i have customised and got fully working after 2 weeks of reading help files on the Agoracart forum.

    With all those installed the site runs smoothly and well withing any restrictions placed.
