Hostgator Review by virp – Backups [resolved]

I’ve requested to restore some cPanel backups.
Created a list with accounts I need to be restored.
Provided URLs to folder and backup names for them.
This folder contained other backups, which were not in the list I’ve provided.
Result: all backups from this folder were restored.
Thus, one account was overwritten with another backup of the same username, which contained different files from another server and it was NOT is the list. Why did the restore it??
Plus, some account were overwritten with OLD backups (they were not in the list, too), some domain names became duplicated (e.g. was domain.com, became domain.domain.com …. ), I tried to explain staff that they’ve incorrectly completed my request, seems that they read client’s posts EXTREMELY inattentively, as a result, VERY IMPORTANT data was lost. -

The responses were thorough, detailed and outlined exactly the steps I needed to complete to receive the desired solutions. They were responses you couldn’t think of rating less than a 10.
Excellent work as usual from the support team and special kudos to Matthew I for the best responses I’ve seen in the five years I’ve been an HG customer.

Reviewed on January 28th, 2009 Find moreOkay I’m pretty bored today work snowed out last 2 days and I’ve been modding my site alot.
Anyways to get to the point it’s today I thought how great host gator has been. I’ve been with several other host one that spends alot on super bowl commercials. There support was horrible. I’ve been disable on another host several times as the server got hacked into. Overcharged on others (tried small one man operations for better support/knowledge didn’t work).
So I look back at the several years of jumping host thinking if I just would have went with hostgator to begin with all the troubles/time I would have saved.

I have lost too many good customers and made a trial reseller account with Hostgator.
Now, glad to say, a year has passed and I am very happy with you guys!

We’ve had to open various, assorted support tickets related to transferring about 40 accounts over. Each and every ticket has been responded to with professionalism, speed and accuracy! We are elated with the service and the responsiveness, and just couldn’t be happier. Thank you to the whole crew who continually amaze me, especially given the support we were receiving elsewhere. The only things I could mark down would be a couple of help desk techs who didn’t quite seem on top of things, but, overall, we just have to say…good job!

In the last month I have had numerous server issues and even worse support from this company. I finally got so fed up that I decided to switch companies. I happened upon HG and decided to give them a shot.
I signed up for Hg and transferred my domain to them yesterday. I didn’t have time to transfer all my files and requested for HG to take care of the transfer for me. Not only did they take care of the transfer, but they kept me in formed through the process and completed it way faster than could be expected.
