Hostgator Review by iteracy – Great service!
Reviewed on October 30th, 2008 Find moreI’ve been a Hostgator customer for 3 years, a reseller for the last 2 years and I’d just like to say how amazingly happy I am with Hostgator. The service is very good, the technical support is excellent and the price is great.
What I’m most impressed with is the level of support. I’ve recently had to pester support every few days for some tricky technical issues (not HG’s fault) and every time my experience has been brilliant, with the tech support guys going out of their way to help me and provide great service.

Hostgator Review by utu – disappointed! [resolved]
Reviewed on October 29th, 2008 Find moreThe first 4 months with Hostgator were great, I was very satisfied with my business plan. But the last months the quality of service is becoming worse, the access timings to my site are longer and I’m loosing users. I opened a ticket but no luck. I arrived here from Italy because the good reviews on the internet, but it seems that the hostgator quality is going down.

Hostgator Review by dmaster – After 3 years.review.shared Reseller
Reviewed on October 29th, 2008 Find moreThrough the first couple of years I have had an excellent experience with Hostgator, yet all is not pleasant.
I am experiencing very erratic and intermittent connections to WHM and my cpanels. This was first noticed when setting up a new customer account five days ago. I have notified support and submitted numerous tickets. I have had a few different techs on this now with no joy. It is very frustrating when your clients call with complaints about cpanel and you can’t give them a positive answer.
I was setting up the customers account while at the clients office so I was using my rather new connection through my cell phone and thought that might be the problem but when I got home I began experiencing the same erratic inability to connect to WHM and cpanel. Then a client called and was having trouble with his cpanel and there wasn’t much I could do to help as my cpanel was acting up too. This has been a five day ordeal so far and still no joy.
To make matters worse after 3 days I started looking at other providers and found that I might eventually be better off paying the same money for better servers, updated cpanels (ver. 11), private label nameservers, and a larger package.
I can’t continue with this type of service if my problems aren’t resolved. As most of my clients are presently churches, non-profits and smaller businesses stuff is not as mission critical as it would be under some other circumstances. But I may have already forfeited some future business based on the cpanel performance this past week.
Up to this point I was very satified with Host Gator and was a fan boy. Now I am expecting more but receiving less.

Hostgator Review by ryanmvwi – Hostgator Review
Reviewed on October 29th, 2008 Find moreI have had a hostgator reseller account for close to 2 years to host a few low traffic sites. If you rely on your web sites being up and working consistently I would look elsewhere. The server I have been on is obviously way oversold. Server loads on it are ridiculous. There has been times where I had to contact live chat (when it works) multiple times a day almost every day of the month to tell them my sites aren’t working because of high load. I just looked now and the server load is 24.90 (2 cpus). I don’t care what they say… constant loads of 20+ are not acceptable. Things may still work… but barely, and with a big lag time. This server seems to be pretty much always right on the edge of going down. Numerous support tickets didn’t take care of the problem… so I pretty much just gave up. The other thing is… when their server loads are 30+ and your sites don’t load that doesn’t count as downtime because the server is technically up. If you need this kind of hosting I think you are much better to look elsewhere and get a vps. It is a little bit more money, but well worth not having the headaches of Hostgator’s oversold servers. I will be happy to verify my hostgator account with the mods if necessary. Just let me know how to do it.

Review Zone Site Ranks Web Hosts
Reviewed on October 28th, 2008 Find moreWeb Hosting Review Zone (www.webhostingreviewzone.com) announced it has launched a new free resource website for consumers that compares competing web hosting services.
The website enables people to submit and view customer reviews, comparing the the various competing hosting services using multiple criteria, such as price, features, and software.
Customers can review these areas on a scale of one to ten. After each feature is rated, the company then averages out the different ratings to decide an overall rating for the hosting service.
On its home page, the site features the day’s top 10 web hosts based on multiple independent reviews by certified Internet webmasters, enterprise users, personal users and other e-commerce companies.
The current top 10 list features BlueHost as the highest rated web host, followed by HostGator, IX Web Hosting, HostRocket, HostMonster, PowWeb, EasyCGI, iPower Web, FatCow, and StartLogic.
Web Hosting Review Zone encourages its visitors to look at the reviews to see how their current hosting service compares to the competition.
According to the press release, the site is independently owned and operated, and was “formed in order to provide an impartial reviewing service to the public, offering “unbiased” reviews that will help the general public decide on the right hosting service for them.
However, the site features prominent banner ads for all of its top 10 web hosts, both above and below their individual reviews, which might raise suspicion among some visitors.

Hostgator Review by AngelFire – Confused Support?
Reviewed on October 27th, 2008 Find moreAnother Support Review, not a pleasant one this time round.
I join Live Chat as I seen a post about something that I needed to get some clarity on. It was in relation to running my sites Kayako Support Suite and Live Chat.
Firstly I was informed that this is NOT allowed on a Shared Server. I then inform them that my Business can not run without Kayako Support and its Live Chat. And I requested a link to Cancel my accounts. I was then asked to hold a moment.
When Support can back I was then informed that the Supervisor said it was allowed on Shared Servers. So a little confused, one person saying one thing, then when you request a link to cancel your account you are then told that it’s allowed?
Like a little confusing ..
