Ok, So I’ve been with HostGator for 2 months now and nothing seems wrong. There has been no down times or any other issue.

I had chosen HostGator after hearing reviews from many people for different hosts, and it seems like HostGator was the right choice.

Hostgator Review by 97transam – Thanks for four years and counting…

I have been on a dedicated server since Feb 07 with HostGator. Before that on a shared server since Apr 04.

Through all of these years, I only experience only a few issues. Hostgator was especially helpful to me when I was on vacation and someone had installed a spammer’s script on one of my sites. They locked down and cleaned up the “problem” for me while all I could really do was send emails of “Thanks Guys!!!” from a public email account until I got back home. I have found it easier to send an email / ticket to the support team and let them do what they do best…. that way I don’t screw up something because I think I know what I am doing…and not have any headaches.

For the most part, I have little interaction with the support team. Which, is a quiet good thing. It quietly means that months after months go by without a burp on the hosting service. When I do need something, like an SSL certificate installed or some other request, I have to go back in the archive email folders to figure out my Hostgator login and password to create a ticket…

My experience has been a favorable one here and I thank the Hostgator support team for all of their assistance throughout the years.

Hostgator Review by pgge20 – Best host ever

Hello.
Although I am new in the forum I am old in the HostGator hosting family as the company was hosting me several times with no problems at all. I am writing down some cons and pros of hostgator from my personal experience.

+
+ Stunning siteuptime with almost no downtimes
+ Very good prices with no contract
+ Refund in case you don’t like the service and wonna leave
+ Quick and reliable ticket responses

- They have an issue with the SSL certificates (I think cpanel issue) as it need it the staff to install the SSL and pay i think 10 Dollars for the installation. After this point everything works as should with the certificate.
- 404 error pages from HostGator that can be removed anyhow by creating yours 404 error page
- Can’t figure of anything else

All in all I think is a great service and some voices that are being heard here about bad services I think they are absolute wrong. Keep up the good work guys!

Hostgator Review by Rockoids – Five Months Plus Report

I ordered a dedicated server (Elite) on February 16, 2008, and it was set up within an hour or two. The next day, I used WHM / cPanel to import my accounts over from another dedicated server at another host (which, fortunately, also used WHM / cPanel). The transition was mostly painless and, after some configuration adjustments and DNS propagation, our visitors began to access the transferred sites that evening.

By the next day, few if any accessed the older server.

Over the next week or so, there were minor configuration issues I had to take up with support, mostly because of my individual “obessive” needs.

Since then, I’ve had occasion to contact support for other matters, such as installing XCache, an opcode cache system, to provide maximum performance for my vBulletin forums.

In nearly every case, response time was good, and support quality was excellent. I’ve had a couple of cases where they overlooked or misinterpreted a problem, but things were always set right after a second contact.

My total downtime has been minutes, owing to a pair of server restarts. Otherwise, things just work, which is what makes me happy.

Hostgator Review by biggestanafan – I just need to say

I didn’t give a review after experiencing hosting so here it is , quick and fast.

It’s been amazing, rarely downtime apart from recently. But that isn’t your fault, and when i contacted you, you gave me a detail of what was happening instead of saying you’ll get back to me, thankyou for your detailed response and managing to keep up standards and i hope the server that is being attacked right now has stopped being attacked by tomorrow. If not i hope it’s possible that you transfer us to another server or something.

Hostgator Review by dependon – So far, so good

I ordered a dedicated server yesterday morning and after lunch I got my welcome email. I am impressed with that and I am sure it doesn’t happen everyday.

I had configserver.com implement the security settings and as of today I am ready to point my name servers to the new server.

I did run into a small glitch this morning, however, and I cannot login to whm with the ip address and I could yesterday before configerserver.com worked on it. I submitted a ticket to them and waiting to see whats up.

Overall, i am very happy with HG thus far…. now approve my forum account so i can access the forums please?!

Im thinking of moving from hostgator now because support is really really slow now. When i signed up with HG i used to get replies within 30min-1hour i dont mind 2-3 hours but when something is urgent and it’s an emergency I can’t wait 5 hours for a reply…
