  • Hostgator Review by inxzdesign – Terrible Waiting Times [resolved]

Reviewed on October 30th, 2007 webhost Find more

I am a new customer. I received an email regarding the need to verify my account. However I am unable to do so by Email because I do not have any access to a scanner in order to be able to scan and email hostgator.

I tried calling the number. I called 8.03am central time, however I waited for 20mins and I still have 5 person in front of me. I am seriously frustrated with the service provided by Hostgator. I am living in Singapore which means my International Dialling Rates is gonna cost me a bomb and I still did not manage to sort out the problem.

I would really appreciate if some one could contact me through email or atleast give me a direct extension so someone whom I can speak to!

I started with hunting for a free web hosting some few years back and have my personal sites hosted with advertisements. Though with almost 7 years of jumping from one webhost to another, I may not consider myself as what you might call a real experienced Sys Admin or Webmaster.

Reviewed on October 29th, 2007 webhost Find more

I’m doing the Level 3 plan, i think it’s swomp!
my site is still being set-up only been 10 mins
so looking forward to adding all my stuff to it

i was using streamline, but their servers did not allow php-max memory to be very high, so when i got to add lots of images to a gallery, they crashed and gave me errors, and as for search engine optimisation, there was NONE, so did not get much traffic, so i gave up, my site was .co.uk
now hostgator let me have www.alphagaming.org
it’s alot shorter, and they allow you to pay
monthly, every , 3 ,6 monthly or yearly so it’s very handy, and the price are so cheap!!! keep it up, and i get so much space for little price,
    10/10
and glad to talk to a REAL person on the support team, not just a wait for an e-mail reply like other hosts do, love the live chat

  • HostGator Notice: mod_security ruleset update

Reviewed on October 28th, 2007 webhost Find more

I just wanted to post a quick note – we’re deploying a new mod_security ruleset on our shared servers today. While we do incremental updates on a fairly regular basis, I’ve rewritten a lot of the logic in our rules, so it’s worth making a public comment about it. This deployment really shouldn’t affect most of you, as the new rules and conditions are pretty specific, but it doesn’t hurt to make an announcement about it.

Reviewed on October 28th, 2007 webhost Find more

yesterday i got an email telling me to verify my hosting account by emailing a scanned copy of my drivers licence and credit card. so i did. my account is now active and everything is fine. I wonder why hostgator is asking people for these information now,or do they just ask you if you use coupons to buy a hosting account.
