Hostgator TOS Update: INODES
Reviewed on May 31st, 2007 Find moreWe have made a recent change to our Terms of Service that refers to INODES. This is effective as of today. For the most part this change will not impact most accounts. However, an INODE is used when you create a file or folder. This change doesn’t mean that you can’t use the full disk space for your package it simply means you can’t have 200 gb of 15kb files. For most websites you will not even get close to 50,000 inodes.

Hostgator Review by brianwiz – So Long to a Great Host
Reviewed on May 30th, 2007 Find moreThis renew thing came up fast on me thought i had another Month but all is well.
I have made the difficult decision to go back to a host that will cut my expenses down over a two year period. Im not saying Hostgator is expensive at all. At this moment in time for me hostgator is not the right situation as it was last year.
With me selling off most of my website and concentrating on different things its time to re-evaluate what i need.
I PERSONALLY recommand Hostgator to anyone who is reading this. Support great. Forums great. Service Great.. Have had no problems at all.
So I thank the fine folks at Hostgator for the past year and wish you all the luck in the future.

Hostgator Review by Nocek – Still Good
Reviewed on May 26th, 2007 Find moreI’ve posted a few review but it only gets better. The only thing I think needs to be improved is part of the affiliate program. I have had a few fraud signups and it tells me it is not paid. Though true, I will not receive payment for fraud signups. I think rather than saying “not paid” on fraud signups, it should say something like “void” to evade confusion. But overall hostgator is the absolute best host ever.

Hostgator Review by bbloom – Good Experience
Reviewed on May 25th, 2007 Find moreNow that I’m on my third payment to HostGator, I wanted to chime in with my experience. I have a reseller account — “aluminum”. My freelance Joomla business is taking off nicely and HostGator is supporting it well.
When I was looking for a reseller account, I could not believe the range of experiences people had with the reseller hosts in general, and HostGator in particular. The bottom line was I need a reseller account so a host had to be chosen. I went with HostGator with fingers crossed as the vitriol on the forums were astonishing. I am still astonished!
HostGator supports Joomla well. I’ve yet to have a problem. That’s saying something! I’ve not yet had a permissions problem which was a terrible problem at my previous (high priced) host. Components install fine. Coppermine works fine. FTP works.

Hostgator Review by deltanet – PHP performance
Reviewed on May 21st, 2007 Find moreWell, I’ve been a customer on the ‘Baby Croc’ package for 20 hours and I have to say the performance of PHP is absolutely abysmal. 108 seconds to even start a PHP script at some points with 20-30 seconds not being unusual (and that’s when it doesn’t time out completely)
To make matters worse I wait 3 hours for a reply to my ticket only to have an engineer tell me this is normal

Hostgator Review by LovesMtns – Very happy with HostGator
Reviewed on May 18th, 2007 Find moreI’ve been using HostGator for about 6 months now, for my Joomla CMS website. I built this Joomla site for the over-55 community where I live. I’ve been “in computing” for 25 years, but this is the first time I’ve ever built a full-fledged website. I am thrilled my Joomla site has turned out has well as it has, go Joomla!
But HostGator has been the foundation of my great experience. The CPanel Fantastico site let me setup my Joomla CMS with a fully automatic script. Wow, just like that. Then the CPanel file manager pretty much gives me full access to all the files on my site. I can do a lot through the upload managers in Joomla, and have setup FireFTP with my FireFox account, but really, the CPanel File Manager just plain rocks.
