Hostgator Review by Jme574 – More than 2 years!
Reviewed on April 28th, 2007 Find moreI am normally very quite when it come to Host Gator, but I thought it was time to share my review. This is my second time with HG and this time it has been around 2 years. Since I have been here, I have only had one major problem with my sites and that is when the server i was on took a crap and the backups were no good either. It took a few days to get things sorted out but HG gave all of us on that box a good deal for the hassles and everything worked out in the long run.
Yes, at times I felt support was lacking or that HG was not offering up info on some of the problems quick enough, but I would rather them work as fast as possible to fix the problem instead of holding my hand ever 10 minutes with no real news to give.

Hostgator Review by crang – good and bad
Reviewed on April 27th, 2007 Find morewell, today i just used the live chat option for support. The good part I liked was the fact that the support crew really knows there stuff!! The down side is that is seems that they are chatting with 50 other customers at the same time. It takes a long time for the support person to respond. It took a couple of minutes to type one link. Other then that, however, it was very good!

Hostgator Review by khepri – happy
Reviewed on April 27th, 2007 Find moreI emailed sales via a ticket, wanted my reseller account closed at the end of this period and to be moved (one way or the other) to a shared account.
Low and behold I was billed for yet another month at the reseller rate…
When I asked why that happened I was told that HG bills at the same time every month. Seems to me that does not answer the question.
I restated I wanted a refund and to have the site moved to shared.
I was then told this is not possible and that I could transfer one domain. (duh)
No mention of the refund. I inquire about getting my money back for the upcoming period that I requested not to have and Iwas told I’d have to cancel my subscription before a refund could be issued. A link was provided.
I put in for the cancellation. The confirmation showed and a new ticket asking why I was leaving. I gave the ticket thread number.

Hostgator Review by Aaron – HostGator.com – Amazing
Reviewed on April 27th, 2007 Find moreI’ve been hosted with Hostgator for a number of months now, and to start I was originally on the Baby package.
I recently read of the upgrades to the servers and wanted to be upgraded too. I submitted my request and I was upgraded to the Swamp package.
Everything in terms of HG is great for me. Signing up and verifying myself was a doddle and every time I need support, its answered quickly and effectivley. I have had absoultly no problem whatsoever with HG, from when I first signed up to right now, typing this.
And to make things even better, I’ve been monitoring my site on Siteuptime.com and the results are pleasing.

( I know its only been there for a week) But i’ve compared the results to my friends (hosted on MediaTemples Grid Server) My results out-shine his, he’s had multiple down periods. Compared to my 100% uptime at checks every 5 mins. -
Hostgator Review by mrcgiguy – Improving
Reviewed on April 26th, 2007 Find moreA little while back I posted a review that was really not in favor of Host Gator. I’ve stuck around only because there aren’t any better options for dedicated servers…and because the idea of migrating hundreds of domains is not a pleasant thought.
So, it’s only fair I suppose that I post another review to state the improvements in support as of late. I’ve posted a few, relatively difficult, issues for the support to tackle over the last month. Much to my amazement, not only were the solved, they were solved quickly and with very little back and forth (which used to be a big issue). Impressive. Hopefully not spoken too soon, I’m knocking on wood now. It’s nice to see that the more difficult tasks are being sent expressly to the higher level techs now. In the past it seemed to be necessary to go unsuccessfully back and forth with a level 1 tech several times before you could get passed on to someone that actually knows something.
Now if they’d only upgrade their old loyal customers to the new dedicated packages they’re offering… wouldn’t that be a nice way to say “we still want your business”!

Hostgator Review by Fedz – HostGator Lost The Plot!
Reviewed on April 25th, 2007 Find moreI first started off on the Baby plan (shared) then as everything was fantastic and my site has never been so stable I decided to upgrade to the Aluminium plan (reseller). All within 2 weeks of signing up with HG.
HG upgraded me within a few hours and everything went fantastic, couldn’t wish for better. I thought I was in hosting heaven
I was sent my welcome/account details and when I logged in they’d setup my account with my shared primary domain when on the upgrade order I had asked for my other domain as primary domain.
So I contacted live support (who in the very few times I’ve contacted them always say email in) who directed me to a form to fill in to change the accounts primary domain.

Hostgator Review by B0N35 – Host Gator – So Far So Good
Reviewed on April 24th, 2007 Find moreI would like to take this chance to say, Thank You!
I have been with Host Gator, for a matter of maybe 2 – 3 hours, and the pre sales live support was great. Also, everything is exactly how I like it in my WHM admin. Thank you so much, I have been trying to find exactly this for the past couple of months. Look forward to being a long term customer.
