I have been in this business since late 2002 – so it gives me a couple of years of experience I guess. Though I have only had the displeasure of dealing with a handful of other companies, I can say with 99.9% certainty that I will probably staying with HG for a good while. There are a few support issues, but nothing you wont get anywhere else. I can only recall one really rude live support person, but thats just 1 in almost 2 years of service.
All in all – not a bad service at all. I wish that they would just contact the reseller when they disable a resellers’ clients account. Really frustrating, has happened twice to me already. They shouldn’t keep their resellers in the dark about what they are changing on the resellers account (or client accounts).

Reviewed on April 19th, 2006 Find moreI need to disagree with the glowing reports I’ve read here. I can’t believe that HG has no ability to cross reference previous trouble tickets on an account.
The current issue has hit again, and I think this is the final straw. Does anyone realise how frustrating it is to receive multiple answers which contradict each other to the same question? The e-mail today was the final kick in the teeth.

In order to calculate the average, Host Gator retrieved data from the logs of 8,000 resellers that joined Host Gator between December 1, 2003 and February 22, 2006.
Brent Oxley, President and Co-Founder of Host Gator commented, ”We are extremely pleased about the fantastic progress our reseller partners are making. Starting from scratch and getting up to nearly 50 hosted sites is a testament to the enormous business potential of our reseller program.”
According to the company, the results are even more impressive considering that Host Gator resellers typically upgrade to a dedicated server when they reach about 50 customers. These dedicated hosting clients were not included. Host Gator began working with resellers in December 2003 and its network now includes over 10,000 partners, with the company adding hundreds of new resellers every month. It is by far one of the largest reseller networks in the web hosting industry.
Resellers are able to offer competitive price points that maximize profits. The Aluminum Plan is priced at just $24.95 per month and can accommodate the hosting of an unlimited number of web sites.
Mr. Oxley continued, ”Anybody can start their own web hosting business by becoming a Host Gator reseller, and with our pricing and support, it can produce extremely profitable revenue streams.”
Host Gator was founded in 2002, and has since become a leader in reseller hosting, helping over 7,000 businesses become web hosting companies.

Reviewed on April 6th, 2006 Find moreBefore I sign up with HostGator, I made a lot of search on the web and asked some question to commercial support. They were patient and very nice with a beginner like me (they gave me a little coupon ^^)
I am a very happy customer since 4 months. For a beginner like me, the control panel is very intuitive.
The support is also great ! Each time I had a question or a problem, they answered me and solved it very quickly ! (raised PHP memory, solved a Path problem and FTP problem). They are nice and patient. Some time 2 of them answer me at the same time
Hehe, on the ticket history I just found that : One time I write them at 04:57 AM and they answered me at 05:03 AM.Well, what next? I am seriously considering taking a dedicated server in 2-3 months with them. I am not a professional to manage a server, I have just some basics on Linux network. I am sure Hostgator will help to make my way on managing a dedicated server if I have a problem.
