Hostgator Review by cyrena – Not happy over exposed password
Reviewed on April 29th, 2006 Find moresince hostgators use of a new billing software things got mucked up. I did have mails to support going back and forth – my credit card info was on my account and the new software could not get it updated – this I reported to support – I got mail asking for payment and broadcasting the password to my account with cc details -anyway after several backs and forths, I insisted my cc information to be deleted and I set up a paypal subscription – guess what, the ..bleep bleep.. thing still does not work and Hostgator did it again – send me a mail requesting payment AND broadcasting my password along with it.
Hostgator set up your modernbill software so it functions and STOP exposing customers sensitive information on the web!!!!Sad to say that as a company grows in size so grow the problems.
Brent Oxley what happened to your excellent support? Get this blasted software fixed, I don’t want to have this hassle every month. -

I have been doing web hosting and website management for my clients for about 8 years now.
Over those 8 years I have used the services of many hosting companies.
I have resold for very large companies, very small companies, middle sized companies, tiny private companies…. many.
As far as the quality of the hardware at HG, their DataCenter is The Planet and I hear from good sources that The Planet’s datacenter is one of the best in the world (short of those of the CIA, NSA and friendly folks like that).
Support here at HG? Do you want to hear the horror stories about some of the REALLY BIG companies out there. Wanna hear about me waiting as much as 5 days for a reply to a ticket or support email? No.

Here is my reviews about them.
I have emailed them for sale etc questions before I purchased it, I got the reply from them as soon as 1 or 2 hour later I checked my email.
When I paid for the plan it only took 20 mins to set up my account.and I have built a new site in 1 hourEverything now works fine and I have a nice connection up and down even I am in China.

But theres something that I have to write about this time
Host Gator Support.
Why?
Simple, they ROCK with every stone available on this planet.
I had for some reason a major issue on one of my clients site, erhummm actually my biggest client.
For some reason the domain wasnt resolving and the subdomains got my private IP of another server I have dont know how, but it did.
We spent 15 hours figuring this out. They never ONCE said, “its your prb, you need to fix this since you caused the mess” (dont know what I did, but I did something wrong) we cant resolve this, we cant we cant. The were even kind enough to explain a few things for me so I cant in the future mess up again.
The time response on all my questions was above what you can ask for.
