Reviewed on October 31st, 2005 Find morei can say that this webhost is absolutely amazing , never seen before ,i have a shared package there , never had problem.
Why this host is amazing is that they answer emails in less than 2 min , you do not believe it? try their support email and see .
I was having problems with the php version and about moving a sql database from another server (maybe because of php version difference) , hostgator staffs answered my email in less than 2 min , then transferred the sql + changed the php version .
it is indeed a great host . i do not know for dedicated but for shared and reseller
i rate it 10/10 , if possible 11/10 . i can say it is among the 3 best

Reviewed on October 31st, 2005 Find moreI’ve been a follower of these forums for quite sometime and they have been an integral factor in me deciding which companies I have picked for hosting for a few years. My thanks to everyone.
I have never been a contributor before because I don’t really think any of my views until now have brought much to the table before and I dont see the point in pointing out things that have already been said time and time before – However, in a way this post does just that but I feel it needs to be said.
I created an account with HostGator just under a month ago (after following numerous threads on this forum about them), because I believed them to be a good, stable provider.
Since the creation of my account (for which I discovered a very handy coupon that entitled me to a month free with them) I’ve had quite a few problems with HostGator.
Before I list the problems, I would like to just say that the Support from HostGator has been fantastic in response times. Any issues I’ve had they have dealt with promptly (the first problem I had was the absence of ImageMagick on my server – 10 minutes after sending a ticket they had switched it on for me and it was working – great!).
Every single day I have been with them, my site(s) has either gone offline (failing to resolve completely) or has been running very slowly (running slowly when something is wrong, not running slowly all the time). I run Joomla on one of the sites and all of the other hosts I have been with I’ve never had a problem with the database taking a long time to actually “work”.

I joined Hostgator about a month and a half or so ago. I joined them with a promotional code to get the first month free. I have recently ditched another host (Won’t name them) For constantly being out of disk space and being so slow. I can say that the price for the Shared service is excellent. I have not seen any downtime yet. Whereas my other host would go down a few times a week. The speed seem’s extremely appreciable. Especially compared to my last host. Emailing support (Not that I have too very often because of all the great Tutorials) has yielded an answer in under 20 minutes everytime.For example, I just needed to apparently have GET permissions set so that I could use this in Cron Jobs. I sent the email off and got an email back in exactly 1 minute. Whether that was automated based on my subject pertaining to the error I was receiving I don’t know. Either way it is great service.
I have yet to experience ANY problems with Hostgator and if you you are looking for a host, I’d say go with the Gator.

During the last three days, my computer hasn’t slept, I have been searching for the perfect host…for that I had to move from two servers during the last three days… Host 1: (servage) good price, bad control panel, promised to activate my account in less than 30 minutes…3 hours later…still no response. I dropped out. Host 2: (hostony.com) average price, cpanel, promised to transfer my website…they didn’t. EXTREMELY BAD costumer service…and when I say extremely bad…just look at their forums. Host 3: (hostgator.com) good price, cpanel, promised to transfer my website…THEY DID. EXTREMELY GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE…and when I say extremely great…just look at the 24/7 customer support. Hostgator is great!
